After reading this article CLICK HERE is there any question as to why those caught up in ‘christendom’ today are lost? ‘christendom’ itself cannot even define what it is to be a Christian.
There are many so called ‘grace’ preachers whose message is just as watered down…yea and nay preaching…grace and ‘free will.’ A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump, Galatians 5:9.
2 Timothy 2:19 reads- ‘Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.’
In the context of the above portion of Scripture, ‘departing from iniquity,’ is to come out from among them, where the message of Christ and fellowship in any way compromises the truth of His glory in salvation by His finished work at Calvary alone. 2 Corinthians 6:17- ‘Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the LORD, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.’
The vital questions remain, and must be asked…Who is Christ? Why did He come into this world? What did He accomplish by His death? For whom did He come? Where is He now?
The clear distinct answer of scripture is that those are Christian who have been known of Him from eternity, in Him from eternity, and for whom He came lived and died, to pay their entire debt, and upon completion of His death to once for all, fully, freely, and forever justify them, by the imputation of that accomplished righteousness to their spiritual account at one time and in one place. He ascended on High and reigns ever to intercede on behalf of those for whom He died, no more or no less. Read John 17, Romans 8, Ephesians 1, and Hebrews 10 for confirmation.
When any sing, ‘I’ll tell the world, that I’m a Christian,” herein is the sum of my faith…that my salvation is ALL of God in His electing grace, and purchased entirely by the Son, and that His bloodshed alone has pardoned and justified me, and when it pleased God, the Spirit of God was sent into my heart to show me my lost estate apart from Christ, and revealed Christ and the merits of His death alone in me, and thereby I bear the name ‘Christian,’ wholly by His eternal, free, and blood bought grace alone.’
